OnlineTEKI is an online tasker platform specialising in IT support and services.

We connect people having tech issues with freelance tech experts (TEKI’s) who are already doing great work and are looking for customers like you.

.

At this time onlineTEKI is for Australia only.

Check back in June 2019 if you are overseas as we intend to expand overseas soon!

You’ll need to register as a “Customer” on our website before you can post an IT Task.

Simply register as a Customer on our “Sign Up Form” HERE, and then you Post an IT Task anytime after registration.

.

1/ Extra information for our customers is provided on our “Customer Getting Started” Page HERE.

2/ After registration, you can post a new IT Task HERE – Just register on our website as a new account and create an IT Task setting out what you need done. It’s that simple!

.

Posting an IT Task onlineTEKI.com is 100% FREE!

There are fees if you do book a TEKI, but if you post an IT Task and don’t book a TEKI there is no cost to you.

All TEKI’s pay a small fee for the bookings they take on.

In order to choose the right TEKI for your IT Task we recommend you look at the TEKI’s onlineTEKI Profile Page.

Look over their relevant experience, qualifications and past reviews by other customers.

Always ask questions if you are unsure if a particular TEKI is right for you, be specific on what you need/want and be clear on your delivery timeframes.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

Consider if the TEKI covered all your concerns, did they appear to have the right skill, training or experience to handle your issue, and were they friendly and helpful?

If you want your TEKI to have insurance cover then this is the time to clarify this fact too.

Don’t just buy on price, weigh all factors and then consider the price to find the right TEKI for you.

.

After you have posted an IT Task you will notice “Bids” are made for your IT Task.

You simply click on the “SELECT THIS TEKI BID” (button) for the TEKI you wish to hire.

You can view your IT Tasks and the Bids you have received in your ACCOUNT DASHBOARD.

.

1/ Normal IT Tasks

Posting a new IT Task is free, if you do select a TEKI, then the agreed IT Task Price will be required to be paid after you confirm which TEKI you wish to hire. The amount will be the Bid Amount the TEKI proposed.

2/ $25 Quick Consultations

If you choose a $25 Quick Consultation, then the $25 is required when you post the IT Task.

3/ When (if any) are fees paid?

All Customers pay a 2.75% levy on all payments made via our website, at the time of the payment.

4/ When do I release the TEKI payment to the TEKI?

After the IT Task is completed, the TEKI will ask you to “confirm” the IT Task is completed to your satisfaction, and at that time you will be asked to release the TEKI’s payment owed.

1/ How to mark the IT Task as “completed” and “leave a review”

2/ How to “deposit funds” into your onlineTEKI Holding Account, and “release payment” to your TEKI

onlineTEKI uses a “wallet” system for Customers.

This means all Customers have an “onlineTEKI Holding Account” where you can deposit funds into, and when you have confirmed a TEKI to complete your IT Task then you simply “pay from your onlineTEKI Holding Account” to your IT Task.

When the IT Task is completed, you simply mark your IT Task as “completed” and then “release” the Bid Price amount to your TEKI.

1/ How to mark the IT Task as “completed” and “leave a review”

2/ How to “deposit funds” into your onlineTEKI Holding Account, and “release payment” to your TEKI

There are TWO things you should always do regardless of whether you hire a TEKI online (remotely) or you see them in person (at their venue or yours).

1/ You should ensure you have up-to-date software protection installed on your computer or device.

2/ You should have backups of your important data.

You can hire a TEKI:

1/ Online (via a remote connection)

2/ In person (if they visit your address or you visit their shop or business in person)

READ THROUGH our “How to Select a TEKI” in the Customer FAQ’s above.

Remember: All connections with your TEKI should be done via our platform.

Avoid contact off our platform unless it is part of the requirement to preform your IT TASK.

Booking a TEKI and paying your TEKI should be done via the onlineTEKI website ONLY.

If you are in doubt about this, contact our Support Team for help.

It is against our Terms of Service to hire a TEKI “off” our website (ie contact and pay them via personal means). This ensures all transactions are kept official with our records and can be accessed if required at a later date for security and safety reasons.

Depending on your IT TASK your TEKI may need to access your devices or accounts. In those cases you’ll need to provide your TEKI with your login details AFTER your IT TASK is confirmed.

Do not provide any passwords or account logins until you have booked a TEKI and you are certain they are trustworthy.

Remember all our TEKI’s go through a verification process before they can BID on your IT TASKS.

You can “Private Message” your TEKI direct or use your “Workspace” (which is like a private chatroom) to chat to your TEKI.

Please do not communicate with your TEKI outside the onlineTEKI platform – in the unlikely case of any dispute, only on-site correspondence can be considered.

Each IT Task you create will have a separate “Workspace” for you and your TEKI to leave messages and share documents and information privately.

No. Workspaces are free for everyone to use that is involved in your specific IT Task.

Just click HERE if you’ve forgotten your password.

A link will be sent to your email with instructions on how to reset your password.

If you’d like to delete your account please contact our Support HERE. We’re sorry to see you go!

You can always contact us if you’d like to reactivate your account at a later date.

FOR >> STEP BY STEP Instructions on how to fill out your new IT Task Form please CLICK HERE.

There are four simple steps to posting a new IT Task:

1/  THE “TASK INFO” – Enter all the details about your Task. You’ll need to provide:

  • A brief description of what you need done
  • Additional details about the Task
  • A category for your Task (e.g. software installation or internet connectivity issue)
  • Your budget for your Task
  • A date you need your Task completed by
  • Whether you’d like your TEKI to work online or in-person (if you’re not sure, just select UNSURE & TEKI’s will let you know if the work can be completed online).

2/  YOUR “OPTIONS” – You can select extra options for your Task here. Options include:

  • Featuring your Task (this will place your Task posting at the top of the page, where the most TEKI’s will see and Bid on it. You can view Feature pricing HERE (link)).
  • Sealing Bidding for your Task (this will prevent TEKI’s from seeing what other TEKI have bid on your Task)
  • Hiding your Project from Search Engines (this will prevent your Task from coming up in any Google/other search engines)

3/  YOUR “REVIEW” – You’ll need to review your Task and confirm all the details you’ve provided are correct.

4/ “FINALISE POSTING” – You’ll finalise your post and submit your IT Task.

If you chose to Feature your Task, you’ll be charged for the Featured listing here. Otherwise your Task posts FREE!

Our Support Team will approve your IT Task within 24 hours. You will receive an Email Notification when it goes live.

Once your IT Task is live you will see it under your MY CURRENT IT TASKS page.

When logged-in, you can view the status of your IT Task at any time in your Dashboard.

Log in and visit the MY CURRENT TASKS page and all your live IT Tasks will be listed on that page.

You can edit IT Tasks at any time, even after they’re published! Just log into your My Account Dashboard to see the list of all your IT Tasks (published and unpublished will be listed).

You will see several “red button” options. Just click on the EDIT PROJECT button to edit your Task.

$25 Quick Consultations are a one-time consultation with a TEKI to review your technology issue and advise on next steps.

There is a one-time set fee of $25 for this Task.

Once you post your IT Task and review TEKI bids, you can select the TEKI best suited to your needs. Your $25 payment is released to the TEKI after you have received the help or advice you requested in your Consultation.

NOTE: During your Consultation your TEKI will only diagnose your issue and advise you on what steps to take next to resolve it. They will not do any work on the TASK itself.

READ MORE – Click Here.

Once you post your $25 Quick Consultation, TEKI’s will start bidding on it. You can then review the bids and select a TEKI.

Always ask questions if you are unsure if a particular TEKI is right for you.

Be specific on what you need and want and be clear on your delivery time-frames.

Your TEKI won’t do any work on your tech issue during your Consultation.

They’ll simply help you diagnose your issue and figure out what IT TASK to post to help you resolve it.

If there are any questions, concerns or disputes, please contact our onlineTEKI Support Team and we will be happy to assist.

Please keep the following guidelines in mind when booking a Consultation.

YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO:

  • Ask for any work to be done (eg. “Can you run the new software for me while I have you on the phone?”)

-Ask your TEKI for any help not specified when you booked your Consultation (eg. “I think I can set up that new printer, can you walk me through how to do it?” when your Consultation was to recommend the best printer for your home office)

  • Ask for a TEKI to work for a longer period of time than you agreed upon initially (e.g. they agreed to spend 15 minutes on your Consultation, and you ask them to work for 30 instead)

The Consultation is a flat fee of $25 whether you talk for 3 minutes or 33 minutes – it is not a “pro-rated” payment (BOTH parties should keep this in mind).

You can delete an IT Task at any time, just log into your My Account Dashboard and see the list of all your IT Tasks (published and unpublished will be listed).

You will see several “red button” options. Just click on the DELETE PROJECT button to delete your Task.

All types of technical IT Tasks are listed on onlineTEKI – everything from software installations to digital content creation to internet connectivity issues.

You can view all current IT TASKs HERE.

You can find a list of all current tasks HERE.

You can browse by Category to select IT TASKs you’re most interested in.

Yes you can, after you have registered you will find an “email notification alert console” at the bottom of your “MY PROFILE” page of your onlineTEKI account dashboard.

Simply mark the boxes of the types of IT Task categories that you are interested in receiving email notifications of when new IT Tasks are published in those categories.

That way you can Bid faster, and are more likely to receive the IT Task.

You can view all current IT TASKs by clicking HERE.

Once you find an IT TASK you’re interested in, just click the SUBMIT A BID button on the right side of the page and fill in your BID details. You’ll need to list a BID amount, how many days you think you’ll need to complete the Task, and any additional details.

IF YOU AREN’T VERIFIED:

IF YOU ARE VERIFIED:

We generally suggest Bidding a flat fee – however, some IT Tasks are more suited to an hourly rate as payment. In your Bid you should be very clear if you intend to charge a set price, or if the bid you’re listing is your hourly rate.

You will be notified by email as soon as the customer has chosen a TEKI to hire.

When the Customer chooses your Bid for their IT Task, we ask them to pay your Task Price into our onlineTEKI Holding Account (escrow).

When you are notified that the IT Task IS FUNDED, you can proceed with the IT Task. Please don’t start work until that payment is made.

When the IT Task is completed, you are required to Mark As Delivered the IT Task, in your onlineTEKI dashboard.

Then the Customer is prompted to also mark the IT Task as completed and release your payment.

As soon as the Customer release your payment you will receive an email notification of same. Then you can log into our platform and withdraw your payment to your Paypal account.

After an IT Task is completed, and your Customer has “released” your payment, the money paid (less our 20% deposit) will be allocated to your onlineTEKI account, and you can simply log in and elect to “withdraw” your earnings.

Simply go to the “Banking Details” page HERE.

You can select the option in your dashboard for the IT TASK which increases the payment amount.

Normal deposit arrangements must be made for this to be correctly processed.

It is against our Terms of Service to ask a customer to pay you outside of the onlineTEKI platform. All payments pertaining to the IT Task must be done via our Task Platform.

This is both for you and the customer’s comfort and ease of service, and to protect you both against any fraudulent usage.

If at any time you have a dispute with a customer, and you didn’t use our platform for payment, we won’t be able to enforce any payments and we won’t be able to assist you at all in resolving the situation fairly.

Unfortunately if a customer books an IT Task with you on our platform, and you take your work direct to avoid our service fee, we reserve the right to terminate your account.

EXCEPTIONS

We may make exceptions to this rule in certain situations – for example, if you are purchasing additional hardware necessary for the task. Please contact us beforehand if you are unsure – you can also check our Terms & Conditions.

onlineTEKI Pty Ltd is registered for GST and all our fees include 10% for GST.

You don’t have to be registered for GST to work as a TEKI. The decision to register for GST is entirely up to you – if you aren’t sure, you may want to consult an accountant. You can learn more about GST registration by CLICKING HERE.

If you are registered for GST then it may help you achieve SILVER BADGE VERIFICATION on onlineTEKI. To find out more about Silver Badge Verifications please click HERE.
