To join up as a TEKI on onlineTEKI, you will need to:

1/ Complete the sign up form HERE.

2/ Upload the ID documents and your selfie video HERE.

3/ Confirm your ID on our secure “third party” (Australia Post) website HERE.

4/ Await confirmation from our Verifications Team that you have been approved and now may Bid on IT Tasks. This usually takes 24 hours. You can always contact our Support Team HERE if it is longer than 24 hours.


To sign up as a new TEKI please complete our “Sign Up Form” HERE. Select the option to sign up as a TEKI. You’ll then be required to provide some verification details before your account is approved.

On this page HERE you will be required to provide the following verification information:

– A current ABN (Australian)

– A copy of your Government issued photo ID (eg. Drivers Licence)

– A 30 to 60 second video of you talking to camera and you must mention “onlineTEKI” (at least once) for verification purposes (NB: We put the video on your public TEKI profile, so we recommend you should say in the video why people should hire you (eg. Your skills, qualifications, fast turnaround etc)

– Complete the “Digital ID” verification check online HERE

Your account will be reviewed within 24 hours. Once approved, you can start bidding on Tasks.

You don’t have to have insurance cover to work as a TEKI. It is up to you to decide if you want insurance cover.

If you do have it, you should provide us with the details as it this will help you achieve SILVER BADGE VERIFICATION on onlineTEKI. To find out more about Silver Badge Verifications please click HERE.

All types of technical IT Tasks are listed on onlineTEKI – everything from software installations to digital content creation to internet connectivity issues.

You can browse by Category to select IT TASKs you’re most interested in.


Yes you can, after you have registered you will find an “email notification alert console” at the bottom of your “MY PROFILE” page of your onlineTEKI account dashboard.

Simply mark the boxes of the types of IT Task categories that you are interested in receiving email notifications of when new IT Tasks are published in those categories.

That way you can Bid faster, and are more likely to receive the IT Task.

Once you find an IT TASK you’re interested in, just click the SUBMIT A BID button on the right side of the page and fill in your BID details. You’ll need to list a BID amount, how many days you think you’ll need to complete the Task, and any additional details.


IF YOU AREN’T VERIFIED:

IF YOU ARE VERIFIED:

We generally suggest Bidding a flat fee – however, some IT Tasks are more suited to an hourly rate as payment. In your Bid you should be very clear if you intend to charge a set price, or if the bid you’re listing is your hourly rate.

You will be notified by email as soon as the customer has chosen a TEKI to hire.

When the Customer chooses your Bid for their IT Task, we ask them to pay your Task Price into our onlineTEKI Holding Account (escrow).

When you are notified that the IT Task IS FUNDED, you can proceed with the IT Task. Please don’t start work until that payment is made.

When the IT Task is completed, you are required to Mark As Delivered the IT Task, in your onlineTEKI dashboard.

Then the Customer is prompted to also mark the IT Task as completed and release your payment.

As soon as the Customer release your payment you will receive an email notification of same. Then you can log into our platform and withdraw your payment to your Paypal account.


After an IT Task is completed, and your Customer has “released” your payment, the money paid (less our 20% deposit) will be allocated to your onlineTEKI account, and you can simply log in and elect to “withdraw” your earnings.

You can select the option in your dashboard for the IT TASK which increases the payment amount.

Normal deposit arrangements must be made for this to be correctly processed.

It is against our Terms of Service to ask a customer to pay you outside of the onlineTEKI platform. All payments pertaining to the IT Task must be done via our Task Platform. 

This is both for you and the customer’s comfort and ease of service, and to protect you both against any fraudulent usage.

If at any time you have a dispute with a customer, and you didn’t use our platform for payment, we won’t be able to enforce any payments and we won’t be able to assist you at all in resolving the situation fairly.

Unfortunately if a customer books an IT Task with you on our platform, and you take your work direct to avoid our service fee, we reserve the right to terminate your account.

 

EXCEPTIONS

We may make exceptions to this rule in certain situations – for example, if you are purchasing additional hardware necessary for the task. Please contact us beforehand if you are unsure – you can also check our Terms & Conditions.

onlineTEKI Pty Ltd is registered for GST and all our fees include 10% for GST.

You don’t have to be registered for GST to work as a TEKI. The decision to register for GST is entirely up to you – if you aren’t sure, you may want to consult an accountant. You can learn more about GST registration by CLICKING HERE.

If you are registered for GST then it may help you achieve SILVER BADGE VERIFICATION on onlineTEKI. To find out more about Silver Badge Verifications please click HERE.

You have to consult with your accountant as to whether you should charge GST.

If you do charge GST and a customer requires a tax receipt reflecting the GST amount, you will have to provide that to them directly of they request it.

For facilitating the connection between TEKI’s and customers, we charge a flat 20% service fee. We don’t charge any monthly fees to use our platform.

The fee is automatically deducted when the customer pays you, so the amount deposited in your account will already reflect the service fee being deducted.

TEKI Verifications – FAQs

Yes, all TEKI’s are required to provide an ABN. The ABN can be yours personally or your business ABN.

You can add your ABN HERE.

It is easy to get an ABN if you don’t have one already. You can apply for one from the ATO CLICK HERE.

Yes or another Government issued photo ID is accepted (eg. Passport).

You can upload a copy HERE.

You’ll also need to verify your ID via our Digital ID page HERE.

Your photo ID should be government issued (in Australia), so it can be:
  • An Australian drivers licence
  • An Australian passport
  • A foreign passport with an Australian VISA
  • IMMI card
Whichever photo ID you choose to provide us with, you will then be required to confirm it’s legal stats via our third party verification site, by Australia Post, called DIGITAL ID – See here. You can upload your PHOTO ID HERE.

Yes you can.

You can use a copy of your Passport instead of a Drivers Licence on this page HERE.

And you can use an Australian Passport via the Digital ID portal HERE.

Yes, you’ll have to upload a video in order to verify your new onlineTEKI account for ID purposes.

This is required for security reasons to ensure that our TEKI’s are legitimate, and that all photo ID are consistent with the video.

You can provide a new video to replace the existing video at any time, just ask our onlineTEKI verifications team to help you.

The video will need to be at least 60 seconds and should be you talking to the camera summarising your technical skills, education, training, work experience, and how you can best serve customers.

Please mention the word “onlineTEKI” at least once to verify that the video was created for our site.

Yes they are optional.

You do not have to do a criminal check to be a TEKI, however, to achieve a Silver or Gold TEKI Badge you have the option of obtaining a current criminal check HERE.

Badges are an additional level of verification that is displayed on your TEKI profile.

You can earn them with additional verification steps beyond the minimum required to register for onlineTEKI.

You can view a list of qualifying steps for a Silver Badge HERE and Gold Badge HERE.   

After you’ve been approved to Bid on IT Tasks, you can add additional verification information and apply for a Silver TEKI Badge. GO HERE to see the Silver Badge Application Form. To qualify for the TEKI Silver Badge you must provide at least 3 of the following verification steps:
  • Current GST registration
  • A current insurance policy
  • A confirmed postal address
  • A confirmed local phone number with caller ID
  • A copy of a Police Criminal Check
  • A copy of your Passport (in addition to your Drivers Licence)
Badges are prominently displayed on your Profile Page. All TEKI’s are encouraged to add Badge Verification as this ensures customers know you are legitimate. The more verifications you have, the more Tasks you’ll win. You can add a Badge verification at any time. Please reach out to our onlineTEKI Verifications Team via our Contact Page if you need any assistance!
After you’ve been approved to Bid on IT Tasks, you can add additional verification information and apply for a Silver TEKI Badge. After you have achieved a Silver TEKI Badge, you can apply for the next level, the Gold TEKI Badge. To get a Gold TEKI Badge you must have first achieved Silver TEKI status – you will not be able to apply for Gold otherwise. To qualify for a GOLD TEKI BADGE you simply have to have a registered Australian Pty Ltd company with you as Director. GO HERE to see the TEKI GOLD Badge Application Form. You can also upload copies of other ID including any of the following:
  • University achievements
  • Memberships
  • Diploma/Certificates
  • Online Training Achieved
  • Technical Training
TEKI Badges are prominently displayed on your Public TEKI Profile Page. All TEKI’s are encouraged to add TEKI Badges as this helps customers know you are legitimate. The more verifications you have, the more IT Tasks you’ll win. You can add a TEKI Badge verification at any time. Disputes & Refunds – FAQs

After you have selected a TEKI to work on your IT TASK, you’ll need to deposit funds into your account before your TEKI can start working.

To deposit into your onlineTEKI Holding Account you simply click the red PAY DEPOSIT NOW button and deposit the agreed IT Task Bid Price.

This will not transfer any payment to your TEKI yet. Once the task is completed to your satisfaction you release the funds and the money will then be sent to your TEKI.

However, your TEKI will not start work until the full amount is deposited into your holding account.

When your TEKI notifies you that your IT Task is completed and you are ready to pay your TEKI, simply click on PAY MY TEKI and your holding deposit will be forwarded to your TEKI as payment for your IT Task.

Yes you can deposit funds at any time, even if you haven’t posted any IT TASKS recently.

You can select the “Pay a Bonus” option in your IT TASK dashboard which increases the payment as you require.

Please keep the following guidelines in mind when booking a TEKI on our platform:

YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO:

  • Ask for extra work to be done that wasn’t on the original IT TASK BID 
  • Ask your TEKI to deduct money from the total IT TASK amount because something didn’t work to your expectations and the TEKI still did the work

Fraud & Legals – FAQs

There are TWO things you should always do regardless of whether you hire a TEKI online (remotely) or you see them in person (at their venue or yours).

1/ You should ensure you have up-to-date software protection installed on your computer or device.

2/ You should have backups of your important data.

You can hire a TEKI:

1/ Online (via a remote connection)

2/ In person (if they visit your address or you visit their shop or business in person)

Remember: All connections with your TEKI should be done via our platform.

Avoid contact off our platform unless it is part of the requirement to preform your IT TASK.

Booking a TEKI and paying your TEKI should be done via the onlineTEKI website ONLY.

If you are in doubt about this, contact our Support Team for help.

It is against our Terms of Service to hire a TEKI “off” our website (ie contact and pay them via personal means). This ensures all transactions are kept official with our records and can be accessed if required at a later date for security and safety reasons.

Yes we do.

We do not allow:

  • Fraudulent TEKI’s 
  • Fake Customers
  • Contacting our website users other than for normal IT TASK related matters
  • Money laundering
  • Selling
  • Promotions

Any of the above activities will be dealt with immediately by onlineTEKI, any illegal activity will be reported to the Police and relevant Government officials.

Anything illegal should be reported to the Police, but in ALL cases please contact our Support Team so we can investigate immediately.
