The best thing for you to do today to get started bidding is to enter in your ABN number (if you don’t have one you can apply for one from the ATO) – remember it can be your personal ABN or your business ABN.

Then you need to do a short video of yourself telling us who you are and what you can do for Customers on onlineTEKI. (You must mention the word “onlineTEKI” at some point in the video so we know the video is current). We would like to place this video on your profile page to build the trust of your Customers, hence they are more likely to select you if you talk about your skills, experience and knowledge with confidence. We would like the video to be less than 60 seconds, but it can be up to five minutes. We are happy to put up another video on your Profile Page but you still require the onlineTEKI custom video.

At this time you will be asked to upload a copy of your current Drivers Licence or Government Photo ID so we can compare the two images in the video against the Photo ID. If you think the two images are very different and we won’t be able to approve your ID this way, you need to contact our TEKI Verifications Team to see if there are other adequate ways we could approve you for our platform.

Finally, to get started bidding, you need to use the Australia Post Digital ID portal, with your photo ID, and they will let us know instantly if your ID is genuine and we can then approve you to Bid on IT Tasks.

ONCE YOU ARE APPROVED TO BID ON IT TASKS:

There are other verification options as a TEKI you can take advantage of, like applying for a SILVER TEKI BADGE or even a GOLD TEKI BADGE. Obviously the more verification tools you use, the more IT Tasks you will win as your verifications will be displayed on your TEKI Profile Page, and most Customers will check this out before selecting a TEKI to do their IT Task.

But they are optional and you can add them at any time. Just reach out to our onlineTEKI Verifications Team via our Contact Page if you need any assistance there.

You should simply browse the IT Tasks that are not yet allocated, and Bid on any IT Task you feel is a good fit for you.

Remember, you don’t have to Bid what the Customer has set as a Budget. They may be paying too much for what they need, or they may be paying too little. You should Bid the Price YOU are comfortable with.

We are all aware that some IT Tasks are more suited to an hourly rate scenario, and you can ask for hourly rate in your Bid, but our research has shown that Customers prefer a fixed price, no hidden surprises. So on that basis you should try to come up with a figure that can give you the fairest outcome.

FOR EXAMPLE:

John’s IT TASK is for a TEKI to SPEED UP HIS PC.

In his IT Task description he sets out what system he uses, how long it takes to log in, the memory he has onboard and what version of software he runs.

Based on his description your bid might be to add three new powerful tools to provide at least 25% increase in performance in total, which you are prepared to work on for him no longer than 4 hours and if his IT Task requires more than 4 hours you will ask for a TOP UP on the IT Task Price at that time, prior to going any further. John has the right at this time to decline to pay more and you would be paid your $149.00 for the work done so far.

Task Price Bid:  $149.00

In the above scenario there are some unknown factors, and based on that you may want some pricing boundaries. But if your Bid is realistic, and you get that 25% increase in speed plus John spends no more than $149, then you will both provide each other with a good review. The outcome is good all round.

How you Bid and Price your Bids will be up to you, and will probably be done on a case-by-case basis.

 

If a Customer is particularly difficult to work with, we want to know. We are not keen to have Customer’s making things difficult for our TEKI’s.

At no time can Customers be rude or offensive to you in any way, shape or form. And this is to be reported to our onlineTEKI Support Team immediately.

TO GET STARTED TODAY

Simply set up your initial required verifications with your photo ID, ABN number and your onlineTEKI custom self video. Then your Digital ID verification.

Once we approve you (which usually takes less than a day) you can then go view the current IT Tasks requiring assistance and start Bidding.

As you start to win IT Tasks you can start your journey as a TEKI, building your good reputation, becoming a industry leader, earning more money as Customers will always pay more when there is a perceived value in the quality and safety of a TEKI, and you can build your personal business over time faster.

The real benefit to TEKI’s using our platform is you don’t have to pay for the Customer (leads) up front. You simply pay 20% of your Task Price to onlineTEKI after the Customer has paid.

If there is a refund to the Customer due to a dispute, then we don’t get paid either, so that scenario is one we try to avoid if possible.

In our experience, in the rare case of a dispute, it usually comes down to poor communication at some point. This is why it is so important to keep as much of your contact inside the Workspace so we have a record of those communications. If you use platforms like Skype, we can’t monitor that, and as such we can’t take that into consideration when a dispute arises.

You should not, and it is against our terms of service, to ask a Customer to pay you outside of the onlineTEKI platform. The reason for this is the peace of mind our Customers want to enjoy and they don’t want to feel pressured to go outside that scenario. All payments pertaining to the IT Task must be done via our Task Platform.  If at any time you have a dispute with a Customer you met on our Task Platform, and you didn’t use our platform for payment, not only can you not leave a bad review (and the Customer can get away with ripping you off) but also we can’t help you get a fair outcome. We know as an Tech support business you would just write this off, but once again we remind you, if a Customer books an IT Task with you on our platform and you ask for them to take some of that work direct to you to avoid our 20% fee, then we may terminate your account with us. There are exceptions to this rule, for example if it is for the purchase of hardware (where your margins are already low) but you need to read our Terms & Conditions to get clarity on that situation if it is relevant to you).

GETTING PAID

Getting paid will be fairly simply on our platform.

Don’t’ start an IT Task until you can see the Customer has accepted your Bid and paid their money into the onlineTEKI holding account.

Once you can see the money is paid, simply communicate with your Customer in the Workspace by exchanging details, logins, whatever you need to complete the IT Task at that time.

Once the IT Task is completed you need to log into your Account Dashboard and click on “DELIVERED” then your Customer will receive a notification to go release your payment.

Again, at this time, if there is a dispute, we want to hear about it and we want to help you. Ultimately we want a fair outcome for everyone, and if you work honestly and to the standard you say you will, we believe disputes will be very rare.
